Office COVID-19 Update - June 12, 2020

Dear Patients,

We are pleased to announce that the Ministry of Health and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario have determined that Dental offices can now begin to gradually re-open for general dental care. We are now scheduling dental appointments as of Monday, June 8, 2020.

Unfortunately, life cannot yet return to the pre-COVID19 "normal" that we all dearly miss. Your next dental office experience will also be different because the protection and safety of our patients, your families and our team is uppermost in our minds.

When you return to our office, you'll notice we will be operating a bit differently. The first thing you'll notice is that our team will be wearing personal protective equipment to keep everyone safe.

You will be asked COVID19 screening questions prior to your appointment and again just prior to entering the office; anyone screening positive for COVID19 will not be treated (our staff will also be screened twice a day).

When you arrive for your appointment, please come wearing a mask. You will find the door locked - this is to ensure we control access to the office for everyone's safety. You will be greeted by one of our staff who will ask you to use hand sanitizer and will record your temperature with a touchless thermometer. The waiting room will be sparse and you will be asked to come alone to your appointment if possible, to assist in maintaining social distance.

Please be patient with us as we endeavor to accommodate everyone as comfortably as possible while complying fully with rigorous infection control standards.

We have always made infection control a priority and where possible, exceeded these requirements. Many years ago we upgraded our equipment allowing spore tests to be monitored hourly for our sterilizers instead of the standard 24 hours. This provides enhanced safety of our instruments. Also years ago, we implemented a supplemental air purifier within the clinic, and upon your return, medical grade HEPA filter air purifiers are being installed in every treatment room, to cleanse the air of pathogens including viruses.

Thank you for your on-going patience and trust in us and our efforts. We look forward to seeing you back in our office where we will always strive to earn that trust by providing top quality treatment in a safe environment.

Sincerely Yours,

Neil Hahn D.D.S. and the High Park Dental Care Team
